CleanMem is a Free/Pro program. CleanMem itself is totally free. When you install CleanMem it will auto run every 15 min by the Windows Task Scheduler. Once installed it is set it and forget it. CleanMem 2.5.0 can be downloaded from our website for free. The most popular versions among CleanMem users are 2.5, 2.4 and 2.3. Our antivirus check shows that this download is clean. CleanMem is a simple but very effective program for trimming memory. One click and it will trim on an adjustable schedule. A litle bit brutal, but there is a theory behind the trimming.
CleanMem really trims. This generates a bit of a problem with optimization/boost and other programs, because it trims everything. The upgrade version is only $4.99, which allows for setting parameters by process. But there is a workaround in the free version. Choose the 'Ignore List' option when using the MiniMem setup Wizard. MiniMem will then trim all but the programs you choose to be listed in the dialog box. Still get a big RAM boost from this.
In the end: My idle RAM usage went from 35% to 26% using CleanMem on a 40 minute schedule. Notably, this was with 20 programs added to the 'Ignore List'...ones that I want to have their full RAM (Tip: add Explorer.exe).
